How to Enroll
Are you a candidate?
Surgical treatment is offered to those patients who are morbidly obese (BMI 40-60 or <35 with severe co-morbidities such as high blood pressure, sleep apnea, diabetes, etc.); have failed with diligent efforts at conservative management; have no major medical contraindications; are informed and fully aware of the risks of the surgical procedures; and are psychologically prepared to deal with the many inevitable changes associated with the procedures. These include, but are not limited to, permanently altered ability to eat normal amounts of food, rapid weight loss, phychological issues associated with major change in body image, and significant and sometimes negative impact on relationships between friends, coworkers and family members.
